“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self,
to the self.”
– The Bhagavad Gita
Roots Yoga was born in the summer of 2018, in Bagno di Romagna, as a coming back to my Land after a long journey.
My name is Samantha, I am a certified teacher of Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Yin Yoga, Children Yoga, Pre-post Natal Yoga, Aerial Yoga and Sound Therapy
with singing bowls.
Yoga first came into my life when I was still a little child.
My parents practiced this discipline at home, with the help of books and videos. The poster with the asanas was hanging on the main wall of our living room, and for years I could not help but admire it, trying to imitate the most complicated positions with that curious spirit typical of children.
Along with yoga, a great passion for travel has always accompanied me.
The second approach to yoga started in 2014. It was the beginning of an inner journey, which gradually left emerge a great decision: moving to Holland.
From 2015, I started building my new life, with a good job and a steadily growing yoga practice. I fell in love with Amsterdam, its light and its lifestyle. And it is in this city that yoga has gradually become a great passion.
From a curious self-taught I became a regular frequenter of all the yoga studios in Amsterdam, where I spent most of my free time, exploring and discovering different styles of yoga and approaches from some of the best yoga teachers in the Netherlands.
I practiced regularly for a few years, until around the end of 2017, when I decided to deepen my studies about yoga.
In February 2018 I completed my first RY200 Yoga Teacher Training at Rishikul Yogshala, Kerala, the land of yoga and Ayurveda, in South India.
A beautiful and intense experience, full of encounters, colors and new sensations, which made me understand a lot about myself and how yoga can become an essential tool to live our everyday life better.
Once back home, my office job and the daily routine had taken on a completely different flavor. I no longer felt myself, living in those shoes.
After five months I quit my job and returned to Italy, closing this first chapter of life abroad.
The return to my land marked the turning point of my new yoga path.
I created Roots Yoga, a name that represent my path of evolution and self-discovery, and I started offering my first classes in the magnificent naturalistic setting of the Acquapartita lake,
in Bagno di Romagna, a place able to enchant, whit its natural beauty, anyone visiting.
After few months spent in Italy and a short stay back in Amsterdam, it was time for me to go back to my journey of inner discovery.
In January 2019 I left for Asia for a new adventure.
I spend 6 months traveling around this beautiful part of the world, intensely exploring and savoring every little experience, every encounter, every emotion.
At the end of the trip, in the small wild island of Nusa Lembongan, Indonesia, I took the opportunity to deepen my studies and receiving a certificate of Yoga Nidra and Pre-Post Christmas Yoga teacher
at Santosha Yoga Institute.
After the trip I felt enriched and open to share all that I had discovered and experienced. After a long time around the world, I felt my roots digging deep into my land.
Roots Yoga, after the first beginnings, has now become a permanent project in Bagno di Romagna, a place that I was able to rediscover and love even more after years of absence. A place where it is always possible to practice in nature, where to find contact with myself and recharge with pure energy.
Yoga is for me today an essential and natural lifestyle, which allows me to stay in touch with my true nature and with everything that surrounds me, in a great depth. In addition to psycho-physical well-being, it has given me a great ability to listen and sensitivity, towards all those little things that we often do not give value,
and that bring joy to life.
Currently I study, teach and offer yoga retreats in Bagno di Romagna, Cervia and its surroundings, and I am always in contact with my second land, Holland, where I often return, also to teach. Recently I have been studying about the healing power of energy through Reiki, and also about sound and vibration, through Singing bowls and the devotional chanting of Mantra, accompanied by the Harmonium.
As a nomadic soul, I am always looking for new opportunities around the world. My aim is to share the great benefits that Yoga can offer to everyone in the everyday life. With passion, care and love I accompany my students in this path of self-acceptance and personal growth, adapting the practice to the different bodies and needs.
